Ride in the shadow of the iconic Canadian Rockies from Banff to Jasper, the most spectacular mountain scenery in North America. Itinerary
Day 1 – Meet the tour in Banff. Ride out to Lake Minnewanka “Water of the Spirits”, the longest lake in Canada’s National Park system. Return to your lodge in Banff for a wine reception and welcome dinner. (lunch, dinner)
Day 2 – Cycle up the beautiful Bow Valley surrounded by magnificent peaks through flowered meadows beside the glacial blue Bow River to your historic hotel in Lake Louise. (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 3 – Today you will follow the Continental Divide as you ride on the legendary Icefields Parkway, one of the highest and most spectacular paved roads in North America. Be ready to see black bears, deer, mountain goats. The day ends with the climb up to your restored pioneer lodge on the shores of crystal blue Bow Lake in the shadow of the Crowfoot Glacier. (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 4 – Today’s ride begins with a sustained, steep climb up to Bow Summit, the highest point on the Icefields Parkway, followed by a wonderful descent to Saskatchewan River Crossing, and then another 8 mile climb up, passing magnificent waterfalls, to Suwapta Pass, and down to your accommodations across the road from the massive Athabasca Glacier, the most visited glacier in North America. (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 5 – Keep an eye out for mountain goats and Bighorn Sheep along the way as you follow the braided Athabasca River to your luxury lodge on the shores of small, serene Lake Beauvert. (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 6 – Ride to Maligne Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the Canadian Rockies. Afternoon shuttle back to Banff and the end of the tour.
